Concession Stand Schedule

The concession stand is a major fundraiser. Students who work divide the profit from the game they work.  Because we need workers over 18 to cook pizza and pop popcorn each student needs to have one or two adult family members work with them in the stand.  Elementary age siblings are not allowed to work in or be in the stand.

Family=at least 1 adult.

Introduction Letter

Dear Parents,

We would like to invite your son or daughter to join a group of students going on a
Close Up trip to Washington D.C. during their junior or senior school year.  We are very excited to sponsor this trip for the students of Tri-County.  We have taken 3 groups of students so far and are beginning to raise funds for the next trip in the spring of 2015.
Highlights of previous trips include:

• Jefferson, FDR, Lincoln, WWII, Korean, and Vietnam Memorials Visits
• African-American Civil War Memorial Study Visit
• Domestic Issues Debates
• Interacting with High School Students From Across America
• Q & A with Global Policy Expert
• Neighborhood Study Visits
• Student-led Mock Congress
• Workshops on Economic Issues
• Supreme Court and Library of Congress Visits
• Meetings with Collin Peterson, and Staff Members for Al Franken and Amy Klobuchar
• Bill of Rights Workshops
•Exploring Smithsonian Museums, The National Archives, The Holocaust Museum, and More

The approximate cost of the 2015 trip will be $2 300.00.  Some of the monies can be raised by working in the concession stand during football, volleyball basketball games held at Tri-County.  We also sell Watkins, fruit and Butter Braids. Local businesses and individuals have also donated money to help students afford the cost the trip. In addition to raising money for their trip students must be in good standing with the school.  This includes, but is not limited to, regularly attending class, following school policies regarding drugs, alcohol and tobacco and having eligible grades.

If you child has been participating in Close-Up fundraising activities a copy of their balance toward their trip is attached to this letter.  If you child has not begun fundraising they are welcome to begin this school year.  We will do all that we can to help them earn as much money as possible.

If you have any questions about TCS Close-Up please contact one of us. For more information about the Close Up organization and trips, please visit

Thank you,

Mr. and Mrs. Amb
